Prints (from original work)

New Print Idea
I've had this original work on my wall now for approx 3 years and feel like it's time for it to be put into storage or painted over. This large work on 9 seperate panels has always been a favourite piece of mine, it's bold and graphic and the dynamic composition has influenced a lot of my work.
The original is approx 48" × 48" so it takes over a lot of wall space. I've decided to produce these much smaller 16" × 16" prints as a test to see how the painting works on a smaller scale.

Sculptures for box frame (set of 9)

Small sculptures
I've been working on this series of 9 small mixedmedia sculptures, building up the textures and adding layers of colour. I'd like to begin working on a few larger pieces but it's difficult to find the space, I think of these as small sketches that may lead to some more ambitious work in the future.

Origami house (project idea)

New Project ?

Ideas for a new collaborative project following on from last year's FLEET artwork, this is just an early stage experiment at the moment but I'd like to try to take it further and see if I can generate some interest in the idea at this stage.

FLEET Exhibition Blackpool

The FLEET has landed !
Dropped the final FLEET print artwork off at the Grundy art gallery in Blackpool yesterday. The exhibition opens on 20th  January and closes on 3rd of March.
I look forward to seeing this work on display and will try to have the work exhibited in a few more shows throughout 2018. I'm hoping to have the work shown in some of the countries that feature in the compilation.
It's always strange to finally have work on show, I'm not sure what kind of reaction the FLEET artwork will receive, my only hope is that it is of interest and sparks a curiosity about it's creation made possible by all those who took time to contribute towards it.

First of the FLEET

First boats ready !
Just sorting out the first of the boats ready for May 1st launch. Each boat will taken to a location to be photographed by me before I send them, these first five will be taken to the sight of the old ships graveyard, as this is where I was initially inspired to begin the FLEET project. All boats will be taken and  photographed (some of them around the UK) before completing their journeys around the world. The boats will be launched in stages, not in numerical sequence and I've decided to dispatch them in the order that collaborators joined the project I will add to this as more people take part. (only 30 boats left now ! )

FLEET Boat 47

Some of the FLEET boats will have an important link to place of their launch. Boat No 47 has been photographed outside the former home of WW1 Poet Wilfred Owen
During his short life he spent a few months in this location while undergoing training, it's sad to think he was killed just a few days before the war came to an end. I hope that Boat 47 reaches a peaceful location as far removed from the horrors of the trenches.
