Gallery frames

Gallery
Trying out a few framing options for this new work. I've been experimenting with a new colour range and have been surprised by the results so far. The elimination of black in this painting has meant a change of direction and at this stage it will be interesting to see how they progress.
Always been a fan of large frames with small artworks, here a simple white frame with complementary white (or off white mount) 2.5" - 3" wide is a good choice, a pale wood or even thin black frame would also work.

Timelapse demo

Demo
This is the work from the timelapse demo, I rushed this slightly for the video but it is a good example of the materials used and the range of marks that can be achieved. The smooth surface of the card is covered with wax and this allows for the layers of paint to be removed.  I always feel that this type of work is a great way to try out colours and forms for larger paintings and it's easy to overwork them, so it's always important to leave them at this stage.
The wax helps because it's a good way to retain some of the original white of the card and use this in the final composition. Making masks with torn paper has the same effect.
